NJ Compliant Firearms
Meeting the requirements to own a NJ Compliant firearm can be a very challenging process as NJ has very strict rules on what you can and can't own. For assault rifles, there is a list of restricted firearms that is maintained by the NJ State Police. Please contact your local authorities regarding which firearms are prohibited. New Jersey law restricts firearm ownership of many different features one of which being the ownership of certain semi-automatic and other firearms based upon their military appearance. When looking to buy a NJ compliant firearm you must take into account that you have to have certain requirements met in order to obtain the firearm, and the firearm has to meet certain requirements to be purchased in NJ. - Must have permit
- Must have NJFID
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
Assault Rifles
- 10 round capacity max
- Not fully automatic
- Does not replicate military hardware
- Doesn't accept modified magazines
- Barrel does not permit the owner to hold the firearm without getting burned
- Does not have the following:

- Bayonet stock
- Flash suppressor
- Threader Barrel accommodating a flash suppressor
- Grenade launcher attachment
Pistols
- 10 round capacity max
- Not fully automatic
